A town centre McDonald’s has welcomed back customers following a month-long closure for a major redesign.
The fast-food restaurant in West Terrace, Folkestone, has a new layout and has been fitted with the latest technology to create “a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers”.
Improvements have also been made behind the scenes, with a redesigned crew room providing a more comfortable and relaxing space for staff to take their breaks.
Cllr Lucy McGirr (Lab), Mayor of Folkestone, officially reopened the restaurant by cutting the ribbon as customers returned this week.
Paul Crocker, who owns and operates 18 McDonald’s restaurants in Kent, including the Folkestone town centre branch, believes the changes will benefit both customers and staff.
“I’m proud to reinvest in our restaurant in Folkestone town centre,” he said.
“The dining area is more contemporary, and we now have separate facilities for our dine-in customers and our couriers leading to a better experience for everyone.
“It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our restaurant, and I’m confident the upgrades will not only enhance the customer experience but also make things easier for our team.”
The revamp reflects growing customer demand for greater speed and choice when ordering food, integrating digital channels into the restaurant’s design, bosses say.
There are two other McDonald’s branches in Folkestone – one at Park Farm and one in Cheriton.
The reopening comes just weeks after KentOnline reported that nearby Ashford is to welcome its fourth McDonald’s by the end of October.
Work on the new branch, located off Chart Road, began in November last year and is nearing completion.
