Two arrested in connection with rape in Payers Park, Folkestone

Detectives investigating a report a woman was raped in Payers Park, Folkestone, have made two arrests.

A 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been arrested in connection to the incident, which took place around 12.30am last Wednesday.

Detectives issued an appeal on Thursday, and have also added that several items are reported to have been stolen from the victim during the incident.

The man and woman, both from Folkestone, were arrested yesterday.

The man was arrested on suspicion of rape and theft and the woman was arrested on suspicion of theft.

Both have been bailed, pending further inquiries.

Police are keen to speak with a man who came to the victim's aid following the attack but has not yet made himself known to officers.

The man, along with anyone else who may have information, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/203464/19.
