Kent Highways warn St Hilda Road in Folkestone to stay closed for six days after hole opens up

A void has opened up in a residential road in Folkestone.

Kent Highways is warning St Hilda Road in Cheriton is likely to remain shut for up to six days.

Engineers have been at the scene this evening to cordon of the hole which appeared this afternoon.

It is not yet known what has caused the void to open up.

Kent County Council has apologised for the inconvenience caused during the closure.

A similar incident occurred when part of the road surface collapsed in Military Road in Sandgate earlier this year.
