Boat slips off of trailer near Blackbull Road in Folkestone

A boat owner may have found themselves out of their depth today, when they realised their vessel had fallen from its tow trailer.

Sara Godley‎ shared the image of the mishap to We Love Folkestone Facebook page today, joking: "Shall I take the bus, the boat or the car to work today?".

The incident took place at the Canterbury Road Blackbull roundabout just before 11am.

The accident reportedly held up traffic around the area after it happened.

The snap shows the watercraft leaning on its right hand side, with a bus next to it and cars trying to navigate around the vehicle.

A spokesman for bus company Stagecoach said: "I've checked with the local depot and we've had no report of any contact between a bus and a boat or trailer.

"I gather that a boat slid from a trailer just off the Blackbull roundabout which has caused some traffic delays, but I've no information that it came into contact with any other vehicle."

A police spokeswoman said: "Kent Police was called to a report that a speedboat had come off a trailer while travelling around a roundabout at 10.13am on Tuesday, May 14.

"Officers attended Canterbury Road in Folkestone to assist with moving the vehicle out of the carriageway."
