Woman injured and bag stolen in reported robbery in Clarence Street, Folkestone

A woman was injured and her bag reportedly stolen in a town centre robbery.

The incident happened yesterday in Clarence Street, Folkestone at about 11.30pm.

She was walking along the road when she had her bag - containing a debit card, a credit card, and cash - stolen by the suspect.

The woman sustained minor injuries which did not need hospital treatment.

A 46-year-old man from Folkestone has been arrested and is currently in custody on suspicion of robbery.

A police spokesman added: “Officers are investigating the robbery and would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious around that time.
