Cambridge City 2 Folkestone Invicta 1

Folkestone Invicta suffered their sixth defeat in eight Premier Division matches as they went down 2 - 1 away to Cambridge City on Tuesday night despite taking a 4th minute lead through striker Allan Tait at Milton Road.

But the visitors fell to a doubly whammy from Matt Clements after 32 minutes and Darren Collins after 35 minutes.

It was the third successive game in which Invicta have ended up empty handed after taking an early lead.

They kept the same starting line up from Saturday's losing encounter with leaders Worcester City.

Folkestone Invicta play away to Weymouth on Saturday afternoon and at home to Welling United on Tuesday night. Invicta's two previous visits to Weymouth have resulted in draws.

The Terras are now managed by former Salisbury City boss Geoff Butler and danger man is striker Lee Phillips.

Invicta will be hoping for their first home win over Welling in over 20 years. The Wings are now managed by former Maidstone United and Dover Athletic boss Bill Williams and have former Invicta players Anthony Hogg and James Virgo.
