Folkestone Invicta reveal Andy Drury has left his position as boss of Cheriton Road club after 2-1 Isthmian Premier victory at Bognor Regis Town

Andy Drury has left his position as Folkestone Invicta manager.

The news of Drury’s departure from the mid-table Isthmian Premier club came after Saturday’s 2-1 victory at second-bottom Bognor Regis.

In a club statement, chairman Josh Healey said: “Andy has put everything into this club and worked tirelessly to help drive us forward.

“I’d like to personally thank him for the dedication and commitment he has given over the past 15 months.

“We’ve had a strong relationship from day one, which means this decision hasn’t been an easy one to make.

“However, I feel a change is necessary to take the club in the direction we want to go and to give us the best opportunity of where we want to be.

“On behalf of the club, we’re truly grateful for Andy’s contributions and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”

Reacting to Drury’s departure, kitman Michael King posted on social media: “Gutted.”

Former Football League midfielder Drury had been in charge at Cheriton Road since November 2023, steering them away from relegation trouble last term.

The 41-year-old has previously managed Whitstable and Margate, setting his sights on a play-off push with Folkestone this term last summer.

While the decision to part ways with Drury may not have been a huge surprise to Folkestone fans, the timing of his exit might have done - coming following a win and, also, with a top-five finish not yet mathematically impossible. They are 12 points behind fifth-placed rivals Dover with nine league fixtures to play.

Invicta say further announcements regarding the side’s management team will be communicated soon.

They will host Chichester on Tuesday and will again be at home against Whitehawk next weekend.

At Bognor, midfielder Jack Jebb - with his fourth goal in six games - and forward Matthias Fanimo did the damage in the first half.

They held on despite losing No.1 Jonny Henly to a stoppage-time sending off.

Goalkeeper Henly will miss their match against Whitehawk.
