Isthmian League side Folkestone Invicta are to replace their floodlights at their Cheriton Road ground

Folkestone Invicta have passed the final hurdle to get their floodlights replaced.

Even better news for the Isthmian League side is that it hasn’t cost them a penny.

Invicta manager Neil Cugley said: “We’ve got the OK to get our lights up. The Football Foundation gave us the OK on that and we will start work hopefully next month because we need to get them sorted. It is all done and all passed.

“We have had the same lights for about 20-odd years.

“These will be stronger, better, longer lasting and we are chuffed, it’s another thing to make the club better.

“We have been ever so lucky, we haven’t had to put a penny towards it.

“We have got grants off the various people and got it covered, which is very pleasing.”

Folkestone sit third in the Isthmian Premier Division, without a loss. They host Potters Bar Town this Saturday.
