A man was reportedly arrested and a large knife recovered after police were alerted.
Officers were called to Gravesend town centre following reports of a man in possession of a large knife concealed in his clothing.
Kent Police Gravesham tweeted this afternoon: "Team 1 sergeant assisted by Kent Police Tactical operations attended Gravesend Town Centre due to a report of a male with a knife."
The man was quickly and safely detained, police said.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a large knife hidden in his clothing.
Police have been contacted for more information.
