Gravesend amateur photographer Anna Armstrong, of St James's Avenue took this shot of a black swan on the promenade

While everyone else seems to be looking at the Thames in the hope of getting a photo of Benny the Beluga whale, one sharp-eyed reader spotted this beautiful creature on the promenade.

Amateur photographer Anna Armstrong, 20, was walking along there at about 9am last Tuesday, October 2, when she saw this black swan in mid-flight.

Anna, who volunteers at the British Heart Foundation Furniture & Electrical store in New Road, took the photo on her phone while she was out with her nan for a stroll.

The St James’s Avenue resident said: “The black swan was chasing a white one just as my nan and I were strolling along by the river.

“I take photos when I am out, it’s a hobby of mine.”
