'Brexit protester' arrested after spending night on St Pancras roof, causing disruption to Kent services

A trespasser who spent the night on the roof of a railway station, causing severe disruption to services between London and Kent, has been arrested.

Southeastern and Eurostar suspended all trains in and out of London St Pancras as a result and advised passengers to cancel journeys or exchange their ticket free of charge.

The interruption, which affects trains stopping at Ebbsfleet and Ashford International stations, has left Eurostar with delays of about 15 minutes, although Southeastern services have returned to normal, except from at St Pancras.

An image posted on social media shows a person draped in the flag of St George, standing on a roof above the railway tracks, with a number of police vehicles also parked nearby.

Some reports have suggested the individual may have been protesting over Brexit.

A 44-year-old man has since been arrested by British Transport Police.
