CCTV issued after boy stabbed in Milton Road, Gravesend

A teenager was repeatedly stabbed in the back and leg as he grappled with an attacker on a zebra crossing.

Police have now issued a CCTV image of the suspect after the boy was stabbed in Gravesend.

The 16-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries in Milton Road, close to the junction with Albion Road, at around 12.45pm on Tuesday, June 15.

Officers investigating the serious assault are continuing to pursue a number of lines of inquiry, including forensic checks and speaking with potential witnesses.

They have also released an image of a man who they believe can assist their investigation.

The teenager suffered knife wounds to his back and thigh following the incident, and was taken to a London Hospital.

Two young men were seen brawling at a zebra crossing on Milton Road, close to the junction of Albion Road, before running down the street.

CCTV footage from a nearby camera then shows the victim limp away and holding his back.

Detective Constable Kelly Tindall of North Division CID said: "Thankfully the victim is continuing to recover from his injuries. This was, however, a sustained and brutal assault which could easily have led to far greater harm.

"As a result of our enquiries, we have identified a man who we think has important information on the incident and I would encourage him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us as soon as possible."

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the assault, or anyone with information yet to speak to police, to come forward.

This includes residents with doorbell cameras or other home security systems and motorists with dashcams, who may have been in the area.
