Northfleet dementia charity scoops Kent awards

A specialist charity has won two awards in recognition for its work with people living with dementia.

Alzheimer's & Dementia Support Services, based in Coldharbour Road in Northfleet, took home the Dementia Champion and Innovation titles as part of the Kent Integrated Care Alliance (KiCA) awards.

The team scooped the Dementia Champion accolade for demonstrating how they enhance the lives of people living with dementia.

The Innovation award was given in recognition of the charity's rapid response to the challenges imposed by the pandemic.

Joint chief executive officer Kate Antill said: "This accolade is an amazing recognition of the fantastic work the team are doing day in day out to support people affected by dementia.

"The past year has been really difficult for people affected by dementia and as a charity we had to move quickly to ensure we were there for the people who needed us most.

"I am so proud of what we have achieved."
