Police successfully applied to magistrates for the property to be closed down and entry was prohibited to anyone other than emergency services and local council employees.

The order was originally granted for a three month period, but has now been extended for a further three months after officers successfully re-applied to the court yesterday (February 18).

It means any unauthorised person entering the property during this time, risks a fine and a prison sentence.

Police Sergeant Steve Cole said: “Antisocial behaviour significantly impacts the local community and we will do everything in our power to put a stop to it.

“Those residing at the Lawrance Square address were warned about their actions and the consequences.

“I am pleased that the closure order has been extended while Gravesham council takes full possession of the premises.

“This will offer further reassurance to residents in the area and is a warning to those who would choose to pursue an antisocial lifestyle that their behaviour will not be tolerated”.
