Traffic was held up after a crash on the A2.

A car and lorry were involved in a collision on the coastbound carriageway near the Gravesend turn-off for the Tollgate services at about 4.47pm.

Two lanes were closed, with congestion stretching back to Dartford Heath.

Police and ambulance crews are at the scene.

The driver of the car has been taken to hospital with an arm injury.

Highways officials said traffic returned to normal just before 7pm.
