Cyclist taken to hospital after crash in Wrotham Road, Meopham

An air ambulance was called to a crash between a cyclist and car.

The rider has been taken to a London hospital following the incident in Wrotham Road, Meopham, at 2.30pm.

Emergency services including the police, ambulance service and air ambulance were at the scene, which resulted in traffic being stopped in both directions.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "A localised road closure was enforced to ensure public safety and officers remain at the scene carrying out inquiries."

The ambulance service has been contacted for more information about the cyclist's injuries.
