Gravesend lorry crash sees driver arrested on suspicion of drink-driving

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a lorry crash.

The incident happened in Thames Way, Gravesend, leaving the road blocked while roadside barriers and traffic lights were damaged.

Police rushed to the scene last night, and closed the road's junctions with Dover Road and Vale Road while the lorry was recovered and roadside furniture made safe.

A driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and careless driving.

Thames Way remained shut overnight for resurfacing works.

Police have been approached for more information.
