Police say driver did 135mph on A2 at Gravesend

A man was due to appear in court today after allegedly speeding at 135mph down the A2 at Gravesend.

Police say they arrested a man in the early hours after a pursuit with an unmarked police car which ended with police making "tactical contact" with the vehicle.

Michael Hayes, 26, of Cervia Way, Gravesend, has been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance, failure to stop for police.

The incident allegedly happened on Monday.

He was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.
