Driver released after fatal crash in Northfleet High Street

A driver has been released following a fatal crash in Northfleet.

A man in his 70s died following a collision involving a bicycle and two cars at around 11.30pm on Thursday night in Northfleet High Street at the junction with Vicarage Drive.

The cyclist was treated by ambulance crews but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cyclist has not been named.

A 33-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through alcohol or drugs.

He has since been released from custody but remains under investigation.

The cyclist's next of kin have been informed.
