Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish on the hunt for new signings

Manager Liam Daish is keen to bolster his threadbare Ebbsfleet squad.

The Fleet manager has had just 16 fit players for the last two games, the most recent being the 1-1 home draw with Newport on Tuesday night.

That result followed a draw at Stockport on Saturday and he knows the lack of numbers leaves him in an uncomfortable position.

Daish (pictured) said: "We had players missing and were down to the bare bones of 16 (on Saturday) but it was by no means an injury crisis. Whoever was available was involved in the squad.

"We’ll have to see how it goes and maybe we can find people out there who will do us a favour and young players who want first team experience. Things are tight, though."

Daish will be mindful that if he wants to bring in contracted players from other clubs he only has a few days to do a deal. Now the club are in the Blue Square Premier, they must abide by the transfer deadline which closes at the end of this month.

It is more likely he is seeking loan players, however, which can still be traded for another month.

Daish has been without Tom Phipp (suspended) and Paul Lorraine (injured), while youngster Adam Williams has also been out injured recently.

Phipp is back from his ban this weekend as Fleet entertain Forest Green Rovers.
