Things hotted up at Iceland this morning (Friday) after yobs caused a fire at the supermarket.

It is thought the vandals set light to outdoor bins before the flames spread to the store in Overcliff, Gravesend.

Two crews from Thames-side were called to the scene at around 12.30am and spent an hour tackling the blaze. Kent Police were also in attendance.

Store manager Toby Kadi turned up for work six hours later to be confronted with the damage.

He said: "The flames spread to the big fans that we have outside. Luckily these control the air conditioning and not the freezers. It may cause the store to be a bit warm over the next few days until it is fixed."

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is treating the blaze as suspicious.

The supermarket is open for business as normal.
