Firefighters tackle two 'suspicious' vehicles blazes in Istead Rise and Meopham, near Gravesend

Fire services are on alert after they were called out to two "suspicious" vehicle blazes.

Crews were called to Hog Lane in Istead Rise, Gravesend just after 8pm yesterday following reports of a van on fire.

One fire engine attended and firefighters wore breathing apparatus while they extinguished the flames with a hose reel jet.

Members from Thames-side Fire Station were called on again shortly after 5am to South Street in Meopham where a car was found alight.

Crews used a hose reel jet to put out the flames declaring the incident over within an hour.

There were no reported injuries from either incident and both are being treated as suspicious.
