Voters across Gravesham went to the polls yesterday to play their part in deciding who will represent them at Kent County Council.
And in the first result of the day, the Conservatives suffered a major setback with Jordan Meade losing his seat to Reform UK candidate Diane Morton.
She took 45% of the vote in the Gravesham Rural division - the first result to be declared in the county.
She said: “I am delighted to be elected for the Reform party.
“The Rural residents have spoken loud and clear. I will do my best to represent them and to do my best for the county as a whole.
“Safeguarding the vulnerable and getting a better deal for Gravesham Rural residents is my top most priorities.
“Reform is here. Tonight we celebrate and soon we will get to work.
“It won’t be easy but we will do our best and put residents first.”
We’ve been following the action at today’s counts here, with 81 seats up for grabs in 72 electoral divisions.
The borough’s results will appear below when they have been announced.
