A Primark worker turned viral sensation described as a “legend” by fans on social media has been on Kent's radio station, kmfm.
Heather “Hev” Cox chatted to Breakfast Show hosts Rob Wills and Numi Gildert earlier this morning (April 30).
With almost 150,000 followers on TikTok, Hev, who is from Gravesend, has been dubbed a social media “sensation” for her viral clips, some of which have been watched millions of times.
She often films herself interacting with her colleagues at Primark in Bluewater Shopping Centre and has proved a huge hit due to her down-to-earth and relatable personality.
However, she does not think of herself as “famous”, she told Rob and Numi: “I am not just saying it. I do not actually think I am TikTok famous, but people say I am.
“People are always too shy to come over when I am at work. They message me and say ‘I saw you but I was so shy’ and I just say come over.”
The creator has also become known as an “unexpected legend” after her video at the self-service checkout at Sainsbury’s in Northfleet went viral, amassing eight million views.
However, she is most known for her “today’s vibe” content, where she sets the vibe of the day.
Speaking to Rob and Numi, she said: “I am going to work, I am doing the 12.30pm to 9.30pm, my worst shift. I hate it.
“Today's vibe is 12:30pm to 9.30pm, I don’t want to do it.”
Last week, KentOnline’s sister paper, Gravesend and Dartford Messenger, featured a story on the local legend after Bluewater staff decided to create a Hev artificial intelligence (AI) miniature figure.
The trend has taken the internet by storm, with people using AI tools such as ChatGPT to re-package themselves as the likes of action figures.
She joked with Rob and Numi that she was delighted to be on page three of the newspaper, although Rob made sure to clarify it was a “different type of page three”.
Hev added: “I was showing them all [at work] and they were really happy. They were taking photos of it, and it was good.”
A spokesperson for Bluewater previously said: “Hev really is part of the fabric of Bluewater, and seeing the community’s love for her shine through online has been heart-warming.
“Hev has become something of a local icon, not just through her work at the centre, but also thanks to her own growing social media presence where she has built a loyal following who love her humour, warmth and larger-than-life personality.”
