Swanley woman and Gravesend man facing drugs charges after being stopped in Cheshire

A man and a woman from Kent have been charged with supplying drugs after being arrested by police in Cheshire.

Emily Philips, 31, from Swanley, and Robert Dalton, 38, from Gravesend were stopped by officers from Cheshire Constabulary’s Roads and Crime Unit on the M6 following a stop check near Knutsford.

Police stopped a vehicle at around 1.30am on Thursday, October 21 on the M6 southbound between junction 18 and 19, and a subsequent search uncovered a quantity of what are believed to be Class A drugs.

Philips, who was driving the car, and passenger Dalton were both arrested at the scene.

The pair have since both been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A Drugs, while Philips has also been charged with dangerous driving.

Philips, of Georges Road, Swanley, and Dalton, of Old Road West, Gravesend, were both remanded in police custody and appeared at Cheshire Magistrates Court today.

They were remanded in custody and are next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday, November 19.
