Officers and paramedics attended the scene where the victim, a man in his 20s, was treated for injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Neighbours reported the road being closed in both directions, near the junction of Upper Luton Road, with police forensics and sniffer dogs at the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and, after being treated for his injuries, was discharged.

Later the same day, a black Audi A1 was stopped in Gravesend and two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

Djorn Anderson, of Longwood Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, has now been charged with wounding with intent.

The 22-year-old appeared in Medway Magistrates Court yesterday (April 22) and did not enter a plea for the charge.

He is being held in custody until a plea hearing and trial preparation at Maidstone Crown Court on May 19.

Anderson admitted to driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance at Medway Magistrates.

He will be sentenced for those crimes on May 13 at the same court.

The charge of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence was withdrawn.
