A man was found dead following a house fire this morning.

Fire investigators were this afternoon combing the property in Pepper Hill, Northfleet, to establish the cause of the blaze.

Two crews were called to the address where they were joined by paramedics and police.

The fire was reported to be localised to one room in the property.

Duty of care has been passed to police while investigators continue to work.

Police spokesman Vicki Foster said inquiries were continuing but confirmed it was not being linked to an earlier house fire in Swanscombe.
