Man seriously injured after crash closes Northfleet road for eight hours

A man was seriously injured after a late night crash that closed a road for eight hours.

Officers were called to Northfleet after a collision between two cars and a cyclist.

It happened on High Street at the junction for Vicarage Drive, at around 11.30pm yesterday.

A 33-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.

The man was treated at the scene for serious injuries.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident, including a grey Toyata Prius and a green Ford Fiesta that were both involved.

Police spokesman Martin Very said: "Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and are urging anyone who saw the cars or the cyclist in the moments leading up to the collision, or who have dash cam footage from the area around the time, to contact them."
