Suitcase blaze in Parrock Street car park, Gravesend, put out by fire crews

A man who set his suitcase alight in a car park prompting an emergency response has been given advice by the police and fire service.

Emergency services were called at 11.02pm on Sunday to a report of a small fire in Parrock Street, Gravesend.

The fire is reported to have been started by a man in his 40s, who was the owner of the suitcase.

Thames-side firefighters put out the flames.

A police spokesman said the man was provided with advice and directed to a private premises for support.
