Manhunt as balaclava-clad robbers ‘demand cash and threaten Morrisons worker’ in New Ash Green

Would-be robbers dressed in black and disguised in balaclavas are said to have burst inside a Morrisons Daily demanding cash and threatening a staff member.

One suspect reportedly leapt behind the counter, smashing a protective plastic screen, while another locked the back door of the New Ash Green store.

The duo, believed to be in their 30s, entered the shop in The Row together, before fleeing empty-handed when an alarm was triggered.

Police are hunting the suspects following the incident at 2.30pm on Thursday (April 24), whereby the Morrisons worker was left with minor injuries.

It is believed they headed towards North Square Car Park on Ash Road, before officers arrived.

Police are urging residents with CCTV or drivers with dashcam who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to check for footage.
