Dealer Stephen Durbin, of Northfleet, jailed after stash of drugs worth £75k are found in his loft

A drug dealer who hid his cocaine inside his loft has been locked up after drugs worth £75,000 were found in his home.

Stephen Durbin, 34, has been jailed for six years and nine months after he pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine and cannabis.

He also admitting acquiring criminal property when he appeared at Woolwich Crown Court.

The court heard how in June officers executed a drugs warrant at his home.

Inside the house police found seven large bags of cannabis in a room which weighed around 1kg.

Alongside this officers also found several smaller bags of cannabis, digital scales, pieces of paper with names and numbers on as well as vacuum pack bags.

Inside his loft in Fleet Road, Northfleet, further large bags of cannabis were found which weighed 1.25kg and 2.35kg.

Cocaine was found concealed under insulation inside his loft and a blue bowl which contained a spoon and white powder was also discovered between the joists along with three large solid lumps of white powder which weighed 375g.

Officers also found large quantities of cash as well as designer watches and clothing.

Seven mobile phones were also found inside the house.

Investigating officer DC Rebecca Veares said: "Durbin was not a street dealer, he was further up the chain acting as a wholesale drug dealer.

"He had a large quantity of drugs in his house which would have been sold and distributed further and would have been used to target a lot of vulnerable people.

‘I’m pleased he is now behind bars and I hope that this sentencing acts as a deterrent to others."
