A FULL investigation is under way after a 60-year-old paedophile from Kent was found dead in his prison cell.

David Forrester, from The Crescent, Northfleet, was sentenced to 16 years behind bars for sexual abuse against children - some as young as five.

But just four months into his sentence, Forrester was found dead in his single cell at the maximum security Whitemoor prison in Cambridgeshire.

The Prison Service is initially saying Forrester's death was due to natural causes. An inquest to confirm this will take place in the near future.

A spokesman for the Prison Service said Forrester was not on suicide watch.
