A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car.

Police officers and paramedics were called to Dover Road, in Northfleet, shortly after 7am today (February 3) to reports of a crash.

The pedestrian was treated at the scene for injuries, which are not described as serious, and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed earlier this morning at Shepherd Street but has since reopened.

Elsewhere in the borough, a man was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries following a one-vehicle crash in Old Road East.

The main road remains closed between Valley Drive and The Turnstones.
