Person cut from van after crash in Henhurst Road, Cobham, near Gravesend

Firefighters have cut a person out of the wreckage of a van.

Crews used cutting tools to free an individual after the crash off Henhurst Road, in Cobham, near Gravesend.

Three fire engines attended at around 6.40pm yesterday.

The windscreen of the van was removed and one casualty was released and passed into the care of SECAmb.

Police were also in attendance and the road was cleared just after 7pm.

No other casualties were reported.

Spokesman for Kent Police, James Walker, said: "Officers attended alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"One man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries that were not reported to be serious."

Spokesman for SECAmb, Rich Airey, said: "I can confirm ambulance crews attended the scene following reports of an RTC involving a van.

"A man was assessed and treated at the scene for back pain before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital."
