Animal Search UK pet detectives to join the search for missing Gravesend kitten Darcey

Expert 'pet detectives' have been called in to join the hunt for a missing four-month-old kitten.

Animal Search UK's missing pet search team will be taking to the streets of the Riverview Park area of Gravesend to try and locate missing Darcey.

The young cat escaped from her house and is thought to be hiding in the neighbourhood, with the search team saying she will likely be very scared and vulnerable.

As well as asking residents for information, the team will also be conducting a specialist night search of the area, using high-powered thermal imaging cameras, as Darcey may be hiding and there is more chance to spot her at dusk.

Pet detective Andrew McNair said: "Very often cats are found no more than a mile away, it's important we try and ascertain where Darcey may be and hope we manage to get some sightings."

The search team has previously carried out more than 100 pet detective searches.

They will wear hi-viz clothing and drive a large Animal Search van to raise awareness of the search.
