A car wash and tyre fitting centre could be transformed into housing under new proposals.
An application submitted to Gravesham council outlined plans to demolish Northfleet Hand Car Wash and Don’s Tyres to make way for a three-storey building.
The development would include two studios, six two-bedroom and six three-bedroom flats and nine off-street car parking spaces.
Another scheme validated on Tuesday, September 16, could see The Lion pub’s car park in Luddesdown Road, Luddesdown, given a new look.
A non-material amendment has been submitted to allow minor changes to the lot’s layout, resulting in the loss of two spaces.
The plans also include the installation of a repurposed red phone box to be used as a community library.
Meanwhile, in the town’s Havisham Road, an annexe could soon be rented out independently.
A variation of the condition application seeks to change the terms of an earlier scheme, allowing the space to be let to people outside the family, provided it cannot be sold as a separate unit or used for business purposes.
Elsewhere in Northfleet, WER Packing Supplies is asking for approval of conditions, including site investigations, remediation strategies and verification plans, relating to previous plans.
Tree works are also among last week’s submissions. At Croftside in Vigo, three hornbeams are proposed for removal or reduction, while at Timber Bank, another oak tree could be reduced by three metres.
In Gravesend town centre, an olive tree in Parrock Road could be removed.
