Thousands of pounds worth of technology has been stolen from a school.

Thamesview School was broken into over the weekend and four computers were taken.

A police spokesman said: "It appears entry was gained through a window to one of the classrooms which had been smashed."

The break in and theft wasn’t reported until Monday morning, just before 7am.

Head teacher Harry Ingham said: "We were saddened by the break in and the stealing of four computers at the weekend and have put measures in place to ensure that the students will not be effected by the missing technology.

"We are currently undergoing a full investigation into the event and helping police where we can."

Police are not sure when the computers were taken from secondary school in Thong Lane, Gravesend, but have said it occurred sometime between June 28 and July 1.

Officers are continuing their enquiries.

Mr Ingham was appointed to the school, which has over 700 pupils, last September.
