Saint George's Church of England School sends pupils home after positive Covid-19 test

A secondary school has confirmed it has "some" confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Saint George's Church of England secondary school, in Meadow Road, Gravesend, has asked those who have been in contact with the affected individual to self-isolate for 14 days.

A statement posted on its website said: "Unfortunately, we have had some confirmed cases of Covid-19 in school.

"We have been in communication with PHE and the DFE and are following all guidance as directed.

"If your son or daughter are affected by this then they do not need to have a test unless they start showing symptoms.

"Please could we ask you to follow the government guidance about Covid-19 and ask that if your son or daughter is displaying symptoms that you keep them at home.

"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness."
