Man caught on camera appearing to steal shoes from Sikh temple in Gravesend

A Sikh temple is appealing for help to track down a suspected shoe thief for the second time this year.

The brazen act happened yesterday (Tuesday) at Gravesend's Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara.

A brown haired white man in a black t-shirt, grey wind breaker and black trousers can be seen in CCTV footage uploaded to Facebook by the temple looking directly at the camera before placing some white trainers, left in the reception by a visitor, into a satchel and walking off.

In January a 28-year-old woman was also caught stealing two pairs of footwear from the site in Khalsa Avenue.

She got away with it after being stopped by police and returning the shoes to their owners.
