A 14-year-old boy was attacked by a gang of five men on his way home from a football game.

Swanscombe resident Conor Ludlow was assaulted after a match between Ebbsfleet United and Dover Athletic.

The Gravesend Grammar School pupil was punched and kicked by a group, believed to be Dover fans, during the unprovoked incident, leaving him with facial injuries.

While walking home alone at around 5pm on Monday, April 2, Conor was approached by a group, aged between 18 and 21.

He was using a footpath which goes over the railway tracks of Ebbsfleet International station, just behind Snap Fitness gym.

Conor found himself walking towards the group of men, who were singing a Dover chant.

He said: “They stopped in front of me so I couldn’t get past, and asked if I was an Ebbsfleet fan, but I said no to avoid any trouble.”

The attackers, who were wearing grey and black hoodies with black balaclavas, continued to harass Conor, before punching and kicking him.

After being hit in the head multiple times, Conor fell to the floor.

He believes the assault only ended after he shouted out loudly in pain.

Conor then rang his dad who came and collected him. He was treated for his injuries at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.

A spokesman for Dover Athletic said the club was not aware of the incident but they would co-operate fully with any investigation if approached by the police.

Police spokesman Jordan Bluer said: “Officers were called at 5.20pm on Monday, April 2, to a report of an assault in Stonebridge Road, Northfleet.

“The victim, a boy aged under 16, was reportedly assaulted by a group.

“He suffered bruising and swelling and was treated at a local hospital.”
