Gravesend Borough Market held it's first fresh produce market of the year

The first fresh produce market of the year saw buyers and sellers supporting local produce and businesses.

Hosted at Gravesend Borough Market, the Saturday Market supported minimal food miles between the producer and the buyer.

From now on the event will take place every Saturday from 9am to 5pm.

Gravesham Borough Council's communications manager, Andy Rayfield, said: "The Saturday Market had plenty of visitors and around 40 stalls with food demo's and sellers.

"We also had loads of positive comments on social media."

From now on the event will take place every Saturday from 9am to 5pm, at Gravesend Borough Market.

Other upcoming events hosted at the market will include, The History Cafe, on Thursday, February, 27, from 10.30 am, The Handmade Fair, on Sunday, March, 1, from 10am and the continuation of the weekly Saturday, Fresh Produce Market.
