Officers appealed for help finding the 21-year-old the previous day.

His funeral was held today and a touching banner on a plane was seen flying over the Gravesend and Dartford area.

It read: "Leon I hope you are dancing in the sky."

He has been described as "the light in so many people's lives" by those who were close to him.

Friend Lauren Vine said: “Oh my darling Leon, I’m still lost for words. I never ever thought I would have to say goodbye to one of my best friends so early on in life.

“I can never put into words how much I loved you. A party is never going to be the same without you. You was an absolute diva and I loved you for that.

“I just wish you was sitting next to me right now so I could give you a massive hug and tell you everything will be okay.

“Leon, I really hope you looked down on all of us today and was proud. You was loved by so many people.

“I miss and love you so much. Rest in piece our perfect little angel."

Alisha Khambay described Leon as the "life and soul of the party" in an emotional tribute.

She said: “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to find the right words Leon Junior; I just hope that you have found peace and know how loved you really were.

“There won’t be a day that goes past that I won’t think of you or miss you beyond belief.

“You really were the light in so many people’s lives, forever the life and soul of the party. You taught me so much about how to love and always be kind.

“I hope you’re dancing in the sky like you always did on Earth. Goodnight sweetheart, I’ll love you always.”

An inquest will be held on September 3.
