Traders have been left in the dark after a power cut hit a busy town centre street.

Stores in Windmill Street have had to shut up shop after the lights went off at 11.30am.

Mcdonald's and HSBC have been affected the interruption as some shops light candles as a temporary measure.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said they were investigating the power failure.
