A large number of caravans have pitched up at the Cyclopark in Gravesend.

The 19 caravans which were parked there left Old Perry Street on Tuesday.

Kent Police attended the Cylopark today and said the matter was being dealt with by the local landowner.

A member of staff at The Cyclopark confirmed officers were in the area speaking with management at around 11.45am.

It is believed the situation forced the venue to close early yesterday.

A post on its Facebook page just after 11am said: "Due to circumstances out of our control, Cyclopark has been forced to close at 12pm today. Please watch this space for updates. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to reopen tomorrow!"

A post today at 10am said: "Due to continuing circumstances out of our control, Cyclopark will be closed this morning. We hope to reopen the park at 12pm today. Please watch this space for updates."

The group had moved on by March 19.

The Cyclopark and police have been approached for more information.
