Two charged after Swanscombe and Sheerness burglaries.

Two suspected burglars have been charged after break-ins at properties in Swanscombe and Sheerness.

On Tuesday January 28 police were called to reports of an alleged break-in at a house in Bailey Drive, Swanscombe.

A sum of cash and a coat were reportedly stolen and other items disturbed in the alleged offence which happened between 11.25am and 11.38am.

Another burglary at an address in Halfway Road, Sheerness, was reported to police on Friday February 21.

Sums of cash, jewellery and a watch were allegedly stolen during the incident which occurred between 12 and 1pm.

On Monday February 24, Joshua James-Smith, 24, of High Street, Chatham, was charged with two counts of burglary in relation to both addresses and Jacob Winnet, 26, of Hyacinth Road, Strood, was charged with burglary in relation to the Halfway Road address.

Mr Winnet also faced a charge for receiving stolen goods.

They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday February 24 and were remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on March 23.
