Suspected burglars charged after power tools allegedly taken from Shorne

Two suspected burglars have been charged and power tools seized.

Quick-thinking officers thought a car in Valley Drive, Gravesend, was being driven in a suspicious manner.

They stopped the vehicle in nearby Windsor Road and found various power tools and a generator, believed to be stolen.

The two occupants were arrested.

The incident happened on Wednesday evening (May 7).

Subsequently, Kieron Butler, 32, and Jack Percival, 28, were charged with five burglary offences in relation to incidents reported in the Shorne area between May 4 and 5, where equipment was allegedly stolen.

They were also charged with theft and criminal damage.

Butler, of Oak Road, Gravesend, will face an additional charge of dangerous driving.

He and Percival, of Marsh View, Gravesend, were remanded to appear before Sevenoaks magistrates today (May 9).
