Police hunt driver after woman injured in hit-and-run in Parrock Street, Gravesend

A woman suffered a head injury after a hit-and-run in a town centre.

The incident happened in Parrock Street in Gravesend near its junction with Manor Road.

Two ambulances were called to the road and police carried out the inquiries to try and find the driver.

The car which made off from the scene was said to be a red Honda Civic.

Richard Airey, spokesman for ambulance crews, said crews were called to the road to reports someone was hit by a car at about 9.45pm on Saturday night.

He added: "Ambulance crews in a car and an ambulance attended the scene and the pedestrian was treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

"Injuries reported included a head injury."

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Kent Police was called to a collision between a car and a pedestrian at 9.49pm.

"The driver of the vehicle is reported to have failed to stop and inquiries to locate them remain ongoing."
