Charlton injury crisis cuts short midfielder Albie Morgan's loan spell with Ebbsfleet

Ebbsfleet's National League survival hopes have been dealt a blow after midfielder Albie Morgan was recalled from his loan spell.

Parent club Charlton cut short the 19-year-old's loan due to an injury crisis at The Valley ahead of their Championship game with Cardiff this weekend.

Morgan had only recently agreed to extend his loan at Stonebridge Road until early January.

Fleet boss Kevin Watson said: "Albie has thoroughly enjoyed his time with us and said he’d come back in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself or Charlton let him out again.

"It’s out of our hands and we thank Charlton for all they’ve done in letting us get him in on loan in the first place.”

Morgan played five times for the Fleet and scored one goal during the 4-0 win at fellow strugglers Chorley.
