Ebbsfleet United boss Garry Hill on the future of trialists Alfie Egan and Tomi Adeloye

Manager Garry Hill has made a decision on Ebbsfleet's trialists.

Alfie Egan got another start in midfield on Saturday as Fleet drew 1-1 away to Hemel Hempstead.

Meanwhile, striker Tomi Adeloye played his second game in five days having left Dagenham at the end of last season.

Both players are hoping to earn themselves a deal with less than two weeks until Ebbsfleet start their National League campaign at home to Halifax.

Hill said: "I roughly know where I want to be and when I say that, you have surprises with one or two players.

"Pre-season games are like driving lessons. You have good games and you can have indifferent games.

"As much as one or two players, I walked away from the game against Charlton on Tuesday evening and thought they did well and surprised me, today not quite as good.

"That's what it's about so you have to make those decisions and where we are going forward.

"I know where I am. It's only right, first of all, to be talking to their agents or them as individuals.

"There's a difference between having a player on a non-contract form and a player on a contract form.

"That doesn't mean that if a player's on a non-contract form he can't have extended time if he feels he wants to back himself to earn a contract.

"It's also different when you've got a player on a contract by either rushing to make a decision or putting the player on a contract for his security and then you've got no movement as a manager with that player and your money's tied.

"That's where I am on certain things. I see certain pictures and I've got a certain amount of finance available still where I've picked and chosen what I've signed.

"The players I have signed for the football club are good signings. I've signed some experienced players who are proven and will, I'd like to feel, be part of a competitive squad."
