Fleet keen to hang on to Parker

GRAVESEND & Northfleet boss Andy Ford says he is keen to persuade striker Simon Parker, who recently joined the club on a temporary basis from Heybridge Swifts, to make himself available until the end of the season.

Ford said: "Simon's going off to university in Nottingham in a couple of weeks' time but we're hoping to persuade him to come and play for us at the weekends.

"He obviously won't be able to play mid-week matches but we would like him to be available when we have Saturday games because he has done well and has scored twice already for us."

On Saturday Fleet travel to Hitchin for a Ryman League Premier Division match.
